Edmund Herd was a keen student actor at Cambridge and London Universities in the 50’s. After a career as a country GP, he was finally able to return to his first love, the theatre, fourteen years ago. He undertook part-time training and has followed this with continuing professional development at the Actors’ Centre.
Television appearances include: Cutting It, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, The Mark of Cain, The Street, Crimewatch. He has had roles in the feature films: A Mind of Her Own, Ways to Live Forever and Torn Hearts. He took the title role in the prize-winning short film: The Binman, and has been in many other short films. He has credits in three TV commercials. His extensive stage experience includes plays by Shakespeare, Chekov, Stoppard, Priestly, Coward, Timberlake Wertenbaker etc, together with the work of new playwrights.
